Dr. John Williams, a breast cancer surgeon, is the medical director of the Novant Health-UVA Breast Center in Haymarket, Virginia. He has practiced in Northern Virginia since 1999.

He is a national leader in patient education. In 2018, he created the Breast Cancer School for Patients. This video-based website guides newly diagnosed women with breast cancer on how to obtain the best quality care in their own community. His advocacy work has been featured in US News & World Reports and NBC News.

Dr. Williams dedicates his practice to breast care. His clinical expertise is in both malignant and benign diseases of the breast. He focuses on comprehensive, minimally invasive and compassionate care of both women and men.

He attended Duke University and graduated with distinction in Psychology. Later, he received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
